Welcome to the website of the Carlisle and District Community First Responders

We are a group of friends and volunteers, trained ambulance service personnel who freely give our time to North West Ambulance Service and provide critical response to patients with life-threatening conditions.

As a scheme, we exist to respond to 999 and 111 emergencies as directed by the ambulance service, completely free of charge, providing a mix of patient care and life-saving intervention to our local community in their times of need.

As a group, we also provide a number of other services, such as community training in CPR and the safe use of defibrillators. Additionally, we form part of the local disaster recovery provision and provide a wide range of other services to help our local community however we can. We also provide a voluntary operational support service to the 999 ambulance service, providing logistical support with equipment and vehicle movements and social and welfare services to crews.

We are a completely self-funded organisation with a genuine desire and single immutable goal to make a difference to those around us in our local communities.

We are always growing and recruiting volunteers, and you’re welcome to get in touch and find out more about us and what we do.
